Qualifications Candidate with Adult Home, Health Care or Assisted living Preferred:
Prior experience as a maintenance supervisor in a
Health Care
or residential or assisted living setting needed
Able to perform basic handyman skills
Prior experience in supervision of maintenance and/or environmental services staff
Able to work with older adults
Practical knowledge of residential maintenance practices, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
Responsibilities
Responsible for the coordination, scheduling and management of
maintenance and housekeeping staff as well as
facility equipment.
Responsible for small repairs and handyman tasks.
Establish and carry out a preventive maintenance program.
Develop and recommend policies and procedures for proper maintenance of the buildings, grounds and equipment.
Coordinate and assign work to staff involved in environmental services.
Maintain neat, clean interiors and exteriors of the buildings.
Ensure that the driveways and walk ways are cleared of snow and walks salted to prevent icing in Winter conditions.
Ensure safe and proper storage of cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools and equipment.
Participate in tasks needed to maintain buildings and grounds.
Interview and recommend staff to the Administrator
Participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary action required for Maintenance and Environmental Services staff.
Timely process work requests.
Assist in conducting fire and disaster drills in accordance with Federal, State, and local law, regulations and company policy and procedures
Other responsibilities as assigned
Participate in Safety Committee Meetings
Oversee work order system
Follow guidelines and recommendation related to NYS Department of Health and OSHA for prevention of illness (Flu, RSV, Covid).
