Job Description

Allmine Paving LLC, a TAMKO company, is seeking a results-driven Operations Manager for our Inwood, WV facility. This role leads production, trucking and quality operations in an asphalt processing plant while driving digital transformation, process improvement, and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate blends traditional manufacturing leadership with modern analytical, automation, and continuous-improvement capabilities.

Lead and manage all plant operational personnel and processes to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals. Manage work schedule for a 24/7 operation so that all required positions are continuously filled, and significant events related to production or operator level maintenance are staffed appropriately. Manage payroll and vacations for all subordinate employees. Develop, implement, train, and enforce operational, safety, environmental, and other processes to reduce variation and ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and Allmine policies. Develop and implement an Operations Certification program to ensure that all operations personnel are adequately and uniformly trained for their positions. Communicate with outside customers to develop production schedules. Work with Maintenance to schedule downtime and other work in the plant. Supervise the job performance, and provide appropriate feedback, for hourly employees. Assist in the hiring of new employees by reviewing resumes, performing interviews, and providing input and recommendations to the General Manager Accurately track historical production and quality data, and work with R&D and all outside customers to ensure consistently high quality and eliminate variation Identify, know, measure, manage, and continuously improve all processes that you or your employees interact with or for which you have responsibility. Collect, analyze, and use data and statistical methods to make objective and informed decisions, improve processes, and reduce all forms of variation and waste. Partner with Information Technology and Corporate teams to expand automation and system integration initiatives. Maintain data integrity and accuracy across digital reporting platforms, ensuring reliable performance metrics. Provide executive-level updates on production, quality, and improvement initiatives. Develop visual management dashboards and present performance insights to leadership. Identify, document, and lock out all tamper/adjustment points in your processes. Set an example by applying 5S to your area of responsibility. Maintain plant cleanliness and organization. Complete offsite training as required. Complete first aid and CPR training and act as a First Responder during plant emergencies. Complete Six Sigma training and certification, receiving either a bronze or black belt. Complete required safety training and safety credits each month. Perform a review of all Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures at least annually and make changes and improvements as necessary. Set a zero-incident standard for safety. Follow the Management of Change (MOC) process for all equipment modifications and capital projects that you manage. Develop and utilize Standard Work Plans in your operator level maintenance and operational processes. Assist in the implementation of Corporate Reliability objectives. Develop and manage capital improvement projects. Personally assist in plant maintenance when required and appropriate. Develop KPMs as needed by managers to operate the business effectively. Hold your employees accountable for commitments and results Foster a team environment--be a leader and change agent--set an example. Implement the TAMKO Playbook Manage by walking around (MBWA) and lead by example. Encourage employee loyalty and morale. Interface and coordinate collaboratively with other TAMKO departments and employees as team members.




Requirements:




Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with an emphasis in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related technical discipline. Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing systems. Fundamental knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems. Proven experience with digital systems, automation, and data analytics platforms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting and/or stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
