Summary
We are recruiting for an Operations Accounting Manager. This role manages all accounting and reporting functions for our expanding Co-packer operations, ensuring adequate controls to protect company assets and operational effectiveness. Ensures relevant, timely, and accurate reporting of Co-packer and effective support of operations and financial management.
This role is onsite at our Salisbury, MD Corporate Offices.
The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $145,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains an effective system of internal controls, ensuring compliance with Corporate and generally accepted standards of accounting and reporting.
• Directs the processes of recording, reviewing, and reporting the Co-packer performance, with a focus on continuous improvement in terms of accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and cost. Effectively utilizes information processing technology to deliver information to management in an efficient and effective manner.
• Assists Co-packer Operational management in managing capital expenditures to optimize economic performance, product quality, and associate safety. Effectively manages the CER process for any Co-packer related CER's. Oversees inventory and overall asset management where relevant for a Co-packer.
• Serve as the Financial resource for the Senior Director and Director of Co-manufacturing. Assist with routine and adhoc reporting to support the Co-manufacturing part of our business.
• Reviews / performs monthly closing responsibilities and related cost/analytical and auditing responsibilities.
• Support activities related to annual Operating Budgets and Operational scorecards in addition to supporting adhoc requests from the VP of Foods Plant Accounting.

Minimum Education and Experience Required
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance plus 6 - 8 years related work experience.

• Requires manufacturing costing experience and process cost accounting.
• Must be able to work with the remote Co-manufacturing management team to understand the contracts and cost models and to perform audit requirements at Co-manufacturing plants as needed.

PREFERRED:

• MBA, CPA or CMA preferred. Poultry industry experience.
• Minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
• May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
• May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
• Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
• When in a plant environment:

• Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
• May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
• May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
• May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
• May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
• Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
