We're hiring an
On-Site IT Support Technician
to support one of our manufacturing clients in Postville, Iowa. The ideal candidate is experienced, resourceful, and confident working hands-on in a production setting while representing Tech Kooks as the local face of our nationwide support team.
Responsibilities
Provide on-site IT support 3 days per week (Mon-Wed or Tue-Thu).
Troubleshoot desktops, printers, network devices, and user issues.
Perform hardware installation, configuration, and preventive maintenance.
Manage user accounts and permissions in
Active Directory
and
Microsoft 365
.
Inspect and label cabling, patch panels, and network equipment; maintain visual documentation.
Coordinate with Tech Kooks' Tier 2 / Tier 3 remote engineers for escalations and project work.
Monitor endpoint health, patching, and antivirus/EDR status.
Support backup and disaster-recovery checks.
Document all activity in Tech Kooks' ticketing system.
Deliver professional communication and service to on-site staff and management.
Qualifications
3 + years of hands-on IT support experience (MSP or multi-client preferred).
Working knowledge of
Windows Server
,
Active Directory
,
Microsoft 365
, and
Azure basics
.
Familiar with networking fundamentals (VLANs, DHCP, Fortinet or HPE switches, Wi-Fi APs).
Prior exposure to
manufacturing or industrial environments
is a plus.
Comfortable with documentation, labeling, and structured processes.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
Reliable transportation to the Postville IA facility.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 - 30 per week
