Job Description

Seeking a certified high school level Social Science teacher to join a team of vibrant and passionate educators at a school that is all about giving students every opportunity for success. International Virtual Learning Academy is founded on the premise that not all students fit the mold of a traditional brick and mortar school. As a teacher at our school you will give students opportunity to follow their dreams and passions in a way that works with their schedule and yours with our asynchronous learning system. Teacher will be expected to teach World History, US History, Government, Economics, and AP level courses. This opportunity is PART-TIME hours.

Responsibilities:

- Monitor student classes and provide help and answer questions as necessary

- Engage with students on a regular basis to build relationships and meet learning needs

- Grade student work within 48 hours on weekdays

- Respond to internal and student/family emails within 24 hours on weekdays

- Host a monthly club, social hour, or tutoring hour on a virtual platform

- Attend monthly faculty meeting

- Stay up to date with all requirements for professional development and training

- Communicate with families via phone, email, text, and virtual meeting

Qualifications:

- Teaching certification in Social Science Grades 9-12.

- Ability to adhere to deadlines and meet all responsibilities listed

- 1 year teaching experience (preferably in an online school)

- Experience with learning different LMS systems and remote learning

- Evidence of ability to make connections with students and work successful with parents

- Must reside in: AL, FL, ID, NC, MO, OK, SC, or TX
