As our

Onboarding Specialist

, you ensure every new employee is more than just "hired"; they are seen, supported, welcomed, and meaningfully connected to the work we do. You create a seamless, mission-aligned onboarding experience that helps people understand their role, their impact, and the purpose behind their work.



This role is perfect for someone who loves creating structure, building relationships, problem-solving, and supporting others. You are the first impression and often the most memorable one.

What You'll Do




Recruitment & Hiring




Partner with Directors to identify staffing needs and create job postings. Screen, schedule, and interview candidates with an eye for values-alignment and mission-fit. Host interviews and manage all prep, materials, and logistics. Assist in final hiring recommendations and decisions.

Documentation, Compliance & Process




Ensure accurate and thorough hiring practices from recruitment through separation. Track and complete all onboarding documentation and required reporting. Communicate supervision requirements while protecting confidential information.

Onboarding & Orientation




Lead a comprehensive onboarding program that integrates culture, mission, and core values. Facilitate orientation sessions and help new hires understand the "why" behind what we do. Ensure system access is set up and introduce new employees to their supervisors and support networks.

Culture & Mission Champion




Present professionally--your role is a first impression of Utah Youth Village. Serve as the primary contact for new employees, helping them navigate culture and expectations. Conduct exit interviews and support broader People & Culture functions when needed.

Training & Development




Participate as a trainer in Pre-Service and Supervisor trainings. Serve as a TFM evaluator to help maintain Teaching-Family Model fidelity across the program.

First-90-Days Support




Host structured check-ins with every new employee during their first 90 days. Provide space for questions, feedback, connection, and early guidance. Strengthen belonging and reduce turnover during the most important phase of the employee lifecycle.



What You Bring




Strong communication skills- verbal, written, interpersonal, and active listening. Comfort handling sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and maintain exceptional organization. Inclusive language and social awareness that creates a welcoming environment for all new hires. Confidence giving and receiving constructive feedback. Flexibility in scheduling and adherence to safety and compliance standards. Competence with Google Workspace tools.



Preferred Experience




Knowledge of or certification in the

Teaching-Family Model

. Experience in youth residential treatment or therapeutic programming. Previous HR, training, or people-focused work. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.



Requirements

Residential Treatment-level background check

(maintained at all times). Maintain an insurable

and

Handle With Care

certification (training provided). Current

CPR/First Aid

certification (provided).
