Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Quality Assurance (QA) Project Manager and/or the Chief Deputy Director, the Office Technician (Typing) provides administrative, fiscal, and logistical support to the HQ QA Team, Executive Leadership, and statewide and HQ-led projects, as assigned. This position is the advanced journey level of the series and regularly performs a variety of the most difficult clerical duties. The incumbent consistently exercises a high degree of initiative, independence, and sound judgment, and communicates effectively when responding to numerous inquiries and requests for assistance. The position regularly requires detailed and sensitive public contact and the independent preparation and origination of correspondence involving the knowledge and application of detailed regulations, policies, and procedures.

Working Conditions


This position is eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subjectto change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. This position will require to travel and work extended hours and some weekends.

The State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is an independent state agency mandated by federal and state law to pursue systemic change, capacity-building, and advocacy to promote a person-centered consumer and family-based system of services and supports for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and/or crossed disabilities. The goal of the federal law is to enable individuals with I/DD (self-advocates) to maximize their self-determination, independence, productivity, and community integration and inclusion. The State Council (Council) consists of 31 voting individual, family, and agency members, all of whom are appointed by the Governor.
