Swanton Elementary School has an immediate opening for an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant. This position oversees the efficient and effective operation of both school offices, located in our Babcock (PK-2) and Central (Grades 3-6) Buildings, including the day-to-day support of other office staff. Duties include, but are not limited to: Ensuring that both offices are properly staffed by covering for absences, breaks and lunches, and providing additional support as needed for larger and/or timely projects and needs.Supporting the functions of the registrar (i.e. enrolling and exiting students.)Placing and receiving all orders for supplies, books and materials, and processing the associated paperwork via the established systems and procedures.
Accurately processing a variety of forms (i.e. professional development, field trips, building use, hiring and terminations, school meals applications, etc.)Leading special projects (i.e. yearbook design, sixth grade celebration, online parent-teacher conference registration, etc.)Proactively ensuring that bulk supplies (i.e. copy paper, toner, postage) are maintained.
Receiving and processing Workers Compensation Reports.Producing the school newsletter.Providing school-level accounting and financial support (i.e. collecting and depositing money from various sources, maintaining accurate records) within the districts procedures. Maintaining absolute confidentiality of all student and personnel matters.Consistently providing friendly, supportive assistance to families and staff. Providing general administrative support to the principal, as assigned.Supports a welcome, tidy and appealing atmosphere in both school offices.This is a year-round position that includes summer and school vacation work.
Previous office experience preferred.
