JOB SUMMARY



The Office Manager will provide clerical support to church staff, the Church Council, and committees. This support includes preparing booklets/bulletins and slides for worship services, correspondence, editing written materials and reports, preparing a weekly e-news and entering contributions and accounts payable amounts into a software program.

Essential functions:



Serves guests and members who call or come to the office on weekdays. Prepares worship bulletins, PowerPoint slides, and other worship materials needed for members to participate in worship. Enters routine data into management databases and produces reports from such data as requested. Maintains filing systems and databases of the church, both paper and electronic. Communicates the activities of the congregation by designing weekly e-news and utilizing a Web based email marketing platform to transmit that e-news to members and regular attendees. Receives and appropriately distributes incoming communications. Maintains the church calendar and assists with the scheduling of events. Monitors inventory, ordering, receiving, and storing supplies for the church office. Places additional orders as directed by Council, committee chairpersons, or pastor. Monitors and schedules maintenance of office equipment. Keeps track of service contracts and calls received concerning additional items in church building. Assists with assembling and maintaining of church archives in accordance with the ELCA Records Retention Schedule for Congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (this document will be provided to the office manager).

Other Responsibilities:



Coordinates Sunday Worship Assistants Works closely with the Treasurer on accounting and payroll documentation Reports usage of songs and hymns to licensing organizations Performs other duties in order to support the mission of Peace Lutheran Church.

Minimum Qualifications:



General office experience Strong written and verbal communication skills, good at proof-reading Familiarity with the internet and the Office 365 suite of software programs Ability to learn additional office computer software Is familiar with (or has an ability to quickly learn) the pattern of liturgical worship

Physical Requirements:



Able to work at a computer for the hours designated (Mon-Fri, 9a-2p) Able to move freely within the office space to handle incoming mail, worship planning documents, membership records and financial records. Able to speak clearly when answering the phone.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
