Job Description

Office Manager Gardenwerks is looking for an Office Manager Gardenwerks is a family business and has been at this location in Helena since 1988. Our services include: landscape design, landscape installation, landscape maintenance, flower farm, retail plant nursery, and irrigation services. Over the past 30 years plus we have focused on water conserving landscapes, using less bluegrass lawns, incorporating native plants and the expanded use of drip irrigation. The retail nursery offers a selection of trees, shrubs, and perennials all selected to grow in our region. Bulk landscape supplies, compost, soils, bark mulch have also expanded with local deliveries available. We are dedicated to improving our community and support many local non-profits. We are proud of our staff and are always encouraging professional development, currently we have 3 Certified Plant Professionals on staff, 4 staff members have been or currently are on the board of the Montana Nursery Association.

We are looking for an enthusiastic organized office manager to join our Gardenwerks family. This position will be running the day to day operations, ensuring the office runs smoothly and efficiently.

Some of the job responsibilities will include:

Customer Service



--Answer phones and monitor company email accounts

--Liaison between customers and billings across all divisions

--Offer backup sale and checkout to the Garden Center retail operations

--Assist customers in setting up deliveries, tree planting, and on-site work

Routine Responsibilities



--Invoicing and following up on outstanding payments

--Tracking all incoming payments and completing bank deposits

--Entering bills, issuing payment and classifying expenses

--Oversee the smooth operations, including scheduling, supply management and vendor relations

--Process bi-weekly payroll

--Reconcile bank accounts

--Employee onboarding

--Working with division managers on preparing contracts, tracking payments, progress labor and expense reports, and change orders

--Ordering and running errands for supplies and materials

--Service record for all vehicles and machines

--Help plan and coordinate team-building activities, employee appreciation events and community outreach initiatives

--Additional administrative duties as assigned by General Manager

Basic information



-- A typical schedule for this position is 9-5 Monday-Friday, may require longer shifts and weekend work during the busy part of the spring. We are a seasonal business that does the majority of our work during the warmer months and offer reduced hours during the off season.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
