This position is based on-site at our Juneau Headquarters, located in the State Office Building in the heart of beautiful downtown Juneau, Alaska. This position is not available for telework.

The Division of Investments is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Office Assistant 2 to join our Director's Office team, where your work will directly support programs that strengthen Alaska's economy and serve communities across the state.


In this role, you'll assist both the Administrative Assistant 2 and Administrative Officer 2, providing essential support across multiple sections. You'll be trained and mentored as you take on responsibilities that build your skills and contribute to the success of the Division.

Examples of duties:

Assist with basic accounting tasks and inventory tracking. Process documentation and maintain organized records. Support reporting, data entry, and internal workflows. Help ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the Division. Provide direct administrative support to the Director's Office and senior staff.

The mission of the Division of Investments team is to administer and service loan programs under the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development. These programs were primarily designed to promote economic development through direct state lending in industries and areas of the state that are not adequately serviced by the private sector.

Minimum Qualifications


--------------------------


High school diploma or the equivalent.

AND

One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.



Substitution:

Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocation education equal one month of experience).



Special Note:



"High school diploma equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.



Some positions in this class may require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular driver's license and be 18 years of age or older.



Some position in this class may require skill in typing. Recruitment and selection may include this requirement.

If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed.
