Duties
Manage daily office operations, including scheduling, correspondence, and supply procurement to ensure a productive work environment.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
Prepare accurate journal entries, perform bank reconciliations, and conduct balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Support payroll processing by verifying employee hours, calculating deductions, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Assist with budgeting activities by tracking expenses and providing financial analysis to support organizational planning.
Generate detailed financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to inform management decisions.
Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to ensure data accuracy across all financial records.
Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions and documentation for audit readiness.
Support governmental accounting requirements by preparing reports aligned with regulatory standards.
Utilize technical accounting knowledge to assist with complex financial concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and account reconciliation procedures.
Perform 10-key typing tasks efficiently for data entry purposes.
Collaborate with team members to improve administrative workflows and implement best practices in bookkeeping and office management.
Qualifications
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of corporate or non-profit accounting practices.
Proficiency in popular accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or equivalent platforms.
Solid knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting procedures.
Experience with general ledger accounting, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and journal entries.
Familiarity with financial concepts such as debits & credits, account analysis, budget tracking, and financial report writing.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail for account reconciliation and balance sheet accuracy.
Ability to perform 10-key typing quickly and accurately for data entry tasks.
Knowledge of payroll processing procedures and tax compliance requirements is highly desirable.
Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and preparing clear financial documentation.
