Summary



The ODA Program Manager is a technical position responsible for ensuring all requirements are met in an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) project, managing the scheduling of Applicant/Installer programs, the identification of program resources (Unit Members (UMs), equipment, etc.), and the allocation of project responsibilities. Ensures all projects comply with FAA regulations and ODA procedures manual. Fosters communication and collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities



The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


Oversee project coordination in accordance with FAA and ODA unit policy and procedures manual. Communicate and collaborate with the ODA Administrator(s), ensuring smooth project approval processes. Ensure compliance with all applicable FAA regulations throughout project lifecycles. Work towards and obtain the ODA procedures manual defined delegation of ODA Project Manager. Once delegated as an ODA Project Manager, ensure project coordination in accordance with FAA and ODA unit policy and procedures. Lead and mentor junior members of the certification team, ensuring they adhere to project processes and regulatory standards. Work with the applicable resource managers for allocation of project responsibilities. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and reviews. Facilitate risk management activities, identifying potential project risks and implementing mitigation strategies. Provide project status as required to company Project Management Office (PMO) and senior management. Promote continuous improvement in project management practices within the ODA unit, including participation in ODA audit processes. Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for appropriate ODA designee candidates.





Qualifications



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.




Required:




A detailed familiarity of FAA STC (Part 21, 23, 25, 27 or 29) regulations, policies and procedures. Minimum of 4 years management of FAA STC projects. Demonstrated sound judgment and integrity. At least eight years of aeronautical, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience.





Preferred:




Minimum of 6 years of working experience with the FAA or ODA unit on projects similar to those authorized under the ODA. Authorized as an FAA Engineering or Flight Test Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or ODA unit member (UM). Knowledge of program management tools and procedures.

The salary range specified is applicable to positions within the State of Illinois and reflects various factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, individual skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and the specific needs of our business and organization. At Astronics CSC, it is uncommon for new hires to receive an offer at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are made based on the unique facts and circumstances of each candidate. The current estimated yearly salary range for this position is $90,377.00 to $138,565.00 per year. In addition, you will be eligible for our Quarterly Incentive compensation bonus. Astronics offers a competitive salary, along with opportunities for career growth.
