Overview: Oasis Associate

Heritage has job openings for individuals to work with the homeless population at Heritage's Oasis Day and Resource Center in Decatur/Macon County. The Oasis Day Center is traditionally open 10 hours each day (7 a.m. - 5 p.m.), 365 days a year.

Core Responsibilities Include:Linkage for our guests to appropriate services Advocacy, client centered consultation, monitoring and assessment of client needs Building of relationships Assisting individuals in navigating the employment process Monitoring of the physical environment (both indoors and outdoors).


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Provide excellent customer service Compassion, patience, and understanding of the homeless population's challenges Ability to comply with the rules and regulations of those organizations to which we are accountable High ethical and professional standards of conduct Possess the flexibility to work with "high risk" clients with complicated problems Possess an attitude of wanting to continuously improve their own performance as well as that of Heritage Above average computer skills (hardware/software) Excellent organizational skills Ability to work within a team-based environment Attention to detail Ability to work alternating weekends and holidays on a routine basis.


Education and Experience:A minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required Previous experience of working with the seriously and persistently mentally ill, substance using, and/or homeless populations is recommended Experience providing support to individuals in obtaining employment is highly desirable A valid Illinois driver's license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance are also required of all Heritage employees.


Salary Range: $37,440-$45,760 per year ($18.00 - $20.00 per hour)
