Job Summary

:

Provide transportation of residents for scheduled visits, in accordance with established nursing care procedures.

Duties:

1. Transport residents in a safe and comfortable manner as possible for physician, dental, optometric, hospital or other consultant visits as ordered by the attending physician.

2. Make sure that residents' wheelchairs are strapped down to the floor with safety belts provided, as well as the residents themselves strapped into attached belts.

3. Takes residents to their appointment via the most direct route possible.

4. Maintains a liaison with the residents, their families, support departments, etc.

5. Follow all transport policies and procedures.

6. Report changes in resident conditions to charge nurse.

7. Maintain good intra-personal relationships with residents, visitors and personnel.

8. Participates in all required in-services and training as directed, including specific training on the proper and safe operation of facility's vehicles.

9. Make deliveries to lab, mail room, UPS, post offices, etc., mail interoffice communications and physician communications, etc.

10. Make copies of all paperwork in transportation envelope prior to giving to RN for acceptance and signature.

11. Performs other duties as required. May include working a flexible schedule.

Requirements

:

1. A graduate of an approved Nursing Assistant Training Program, is a plus.

2. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

3. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.

4. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset people within the facility.

5. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

6. Must maintain a current State of Pennsylvania driver's license without restriction and a satisfactory driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.53 - $27.14 per hour
