Full time Nurse

Allergy & Immunology practice seeking an RN/LPN to work primarily in our Bingham Farms and Novi offices. You will be providing care to both pediatric and adult patients. We are ready for eager participants to join our growing practice. Some of the duties below are those of the Nurse.

Prioritizing the overall care of the patients and helping to keep their experience a good one.

Injections

- Learning our system used for Immunotherapy called Rosch to document injections. Appropriate building schedule for allergy injections, venom injections, and biologic injections.

Rooming

- vitals and history taking of patients. Manual Blood Pressures, temperature, respirations/ pulse/ oxygen level

Performing SPT

(Skin prick testing), as well as Intradermal testing. Educating patients and their families on

proper use of an EpiPen

in case of emergency Demonstrating

proper use of a spacer/mask device

for patients on Metered dose inhalers.

Administering

Nebulizer treatments when ordered.

Calibrating and operating Spirometry testing

on patients with Asthma/COPD or other breathing related concerns.

Refill Medications

, reconciling medications on the computer and in patients' chart

General medical questions

asked by the Medical Assistants or Reception staff in the clinics.

Phone triage

for reactions- proper steps for administering epi, and the follow up afterwards. As well as communicating with the doctor about the situation so they are aware of anything going on. alerting patients of lab results if asked to by the provider.

Medication education

, medications required to be stopped in order for accurate skin testing, and understanding why.

Secured portal

communications through ModuleMD / Halehub Sending signed off lab results, notes or paperwork to the patient and their family.

Prior authorizations

for medications not covered under insurance patient has, submitting the paperwork and documentation for the med- being the liaison between Provider-Patient-Insurance-Pharmacy

Filling out lab requisitions

for patients, scanning and uploading to ModuleMD/sending to patient portal. Coverage in clinics once trained for call-ins or vacations. You could be responsible for the Clinic schedule side with rooming and testing or being the person administering shots to those patients. Dose adjustments for patients who are late for injections or have any adverse reaction to previous reaction. (decreasing dosing, repeating, etc) paying close attention to all alert notes helping to guide you. Educating the patients on the process of injections, the time commitment that it is as well as the questions they will need to be asked at every appointment they come in. Anaphylaxis treatment- in depth education and guidance on treating reactions is of utmost importance with our specialty. The proper protocol-documentation-steps will be taught from day One. Drawing up proper doses of Epinephrine from ampules and administering under direction of provider, documenting episodes in depth as required and following the orders of provider. Completion of school/daycare forms
