Job Overview


We are seeking a proactive and skilled Nursing Home Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and comfort of our residential care facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems, electrical components, mechanical equipment, and plumbing to support a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff. Your expertise will help uphold the highest standards of facilities maintenance, ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance with safety regulations.

Duties



Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems throughout the facility. Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Assist in emergency response efforts related to facility issues or safety hazards promptly and effectively. Regular/daily onsite attendance is required
Learning to keep logs of all temperatures, fire drills, etc.

Respond to resident/management requests and work orders in a timely manner Assist with the scheduling and performance of all maintenance/repair-related turn events Assist in the daily clean up of the exterior of the building. Inspect grounds, buildings, and other community features daily to daily to identify, minimize and correct hazardous property conditions or liability concerns Perform additional tasks and responsibilities requested by management. Projects a favorable image of the home to achieve property objectives and public recognition Ensure consistency in dealing with residents and managers on all matters Know and understand or be willing to learn fire alarm system, sprinkler system and any other systems that are required in a nursing home.

Skills



Strong mechanical knowledge combined with experience in facilities maintenance within residential or healthcare settings. High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to understand and perform all on-site system functions; basic computer skills required. Must have basic knowledge of Life Safety and OSHA requirements.
MUST BE ABLE TO BE ON-CALL 24/7
