This is a short-term, benefits-eligible, full-time one-year-only teaching opportunity for academic year 25/26 beginning August 2025. Provides classroom, lab, simulation and clinical instruction to nursing students in Fundamentals and Medical/Surgical Nursing. Uses live online, hybrid and face to face methods of instruction including heavy utilization of technology. Demonstrates commitment to student success. Uses effective interpersonal, leadership and organization skills while instructing in an integrated curriculum designed using the Nurse of the Future Competencies.

Essential Functions

Instructs students in classroom and lab settings.
Develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses student knowledge of subject matter and prepares and grades exams; maintains academic support hours to assist and advise students.
Engages in the academic life of the college by participating in district-wide and campus committees and activities.
Develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and individual training skills required to remain current with new trends and developments in the field and to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops.
Minimum Qualifications

The Registered Nursing Program requires the following from an accredited college or university:
1. Graduate degree in Nursing and three years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care OR Graduate degree in any field plus Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and three years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
2. Must hold an Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in Arizona by the first day of employment.
3. Must be able to meet health and safety requirements including BCLS, fingerprint clearance card and drug testing.
Desired Qualifications

A. Master of Science degree in Nursing
B. Recent experience as a registered nurse in fundamental/medical-surgical nursing
C. Knowledge of, and/or experience with curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the needs of a diverse range of populations, including cultural backgrounds, ethnicity, age, gender, disabilities, learning styles, life-style preferences, first generation college, etc.
D. Knowledge of, and/or experience with the use of technology including classroom applications, simulation, virtual and hybrid or online learning.
E. Evidence of scholarship in clinical practice or nursing education
F. Experience teaching fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing.
Special Working Conditions
------------------------------
Possession of a valid Level I DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens and other infectious diseases.
May be required to instruct at multiple sites and/or teach days, evenings or weekends.
Assignment may extend past the normal academic semesters.
May require lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs.
