Position Summary
The Nursing Clinical Resource Instructor plays a critical instructional role in the development of student skills. Faculty in this position will deliver high-quality nursing education in a skills, simulation and clinical environment. The Clinical Resource Instructor collaborates with the Director of Nursing and the nursing faculty team to support student success and ensure program quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate student-centered clinical learning experiences that emphasize competency-based instruction and the development of clinical judgment and decision-making skills in real-world patient care settings.
Provide timely, formative, and summative feedback to students regarding their clinical performance, utilizing the learning management system (LMS) and direct clinical evaluation tools.
Assess students' achievement of clinical course objectives and program outcomes using established clinical evaluation rubrics, checklists, and evidence-based best practices.
Collaborate closely with full-time nursing faculty to align clinical experiences, documentation, and evaluations with didactic content and accreditation standards (CCNE).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student clinical attendance, performance evaluations, competencies, and progression in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.
Participate in clinical course orientation, pre- and post-conference sessions, faculty development initiatives, and maintain consistent communication with clinical coordinators and program leadership.
Collaborate and maintain effective relationships with partnering clinical organizations, including clinical site staff, preceptors, and nurse leaders, to support student learning, address site-specific needs, and ensure quality clinical placements.
Model professionalism, ethical nursing practice, and culturally competent care in clinical teaching, interactions with healthcare teams, and student supervision.
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and diverse clinical learning environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and compassionate patient care.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution required or have an active educational plan to attain MSN.
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas, or eligibility for Kansas licensure.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical nursing experience.
Prior experience teaching in academic or clinical education settings preferred.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
