Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Clearance Requirements:

National Background Check with Inquiries and Fingerprints, and Drug Screen.

Period of Performance:

Time of Award up to five (5) years.

Type of Employment:

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Estimated Pay

: $18.39 - $23.48 per hour.

Pay Holidays:

Eleven (11) Paid Holidays.

Paid Time Off:

80 hours, occurring on day one.

Sick Leave:

56 hours, occurring on day one.

Working Hours



The Nursing Assistant will typically work Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), between 07:30 AM and 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period. The Nursing Assistants' schedule shall not exceed 40 hours per week. The Health Services Administrator will determine the actual hours of work. Due to the nature of the correctional setting, delays in work performance may occur. Such delays may include, but are not limited to, inclement weather, electrical or mechanical problems, or other security matters.

Summary of Duties



The Nursing Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of incarcerated individuals within a secure, federally operated environment. This position demands a high level of professionalism, compassion, and clinical competence, as the Nursing Assistant will assist healthcare providers in delivering direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting daily living activities, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.


Qualifications



Must possess a high school certificate or GED. Must be a certified Nursing Assistant Must hold a certification from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) or the National Healthcareer Association and/or any national organization. Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant IV. Must have two (2) years of documented experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified either by the American Red Cross (ARC)or the American Heart Association (AHA). Bilingual oral communication skills and experience in a clinical correctional setting are desirable but not required. Have the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial, and ethics backgrounds.

Attire




The contractors are expected to wear professional clothing while on duty. The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employees will be performing.

Duties and Responsibilities



Provide chair-side assistance to the Clinical Director and Medical Officers. Assists Registered Nurses in performing patient care activities for inmate patients. Maintains sanitation of patient care areas and observes infection control procedures and universal precautions in all instances. Procures proper equipment needed, maintains clean and sterile fields, secures specimens for laboratory analysis (i.e., urine, stool, sputum, etc.), labels specimens, and transports them to the laboratory. Reports pertinent data in a timely manner to the medical staff, including changes in the patients condition requiring assessment and/or further intervention. Communicates any changes in behavior, vital signs, or significant incidents to the Physician, Mid-Level Provider, or Clinical Nurse. Utilizes good body mechanics when transferring and/or assisting patients. Safely transports patients in wheelchairs and/or on gurneys. Clerical duties such as scheduling of patient appointments, maintaining daily activity logs, maintaining stock supplies, and identifying supplies needing to be ordered. Follows guidelines that require confidentiality with all patient information. Performs other duties as directed, including but not limited to filing and/or scanning medical documents into patients' electronic medical record (EMR) and stamping chart forms, etc. Checks patient vital signs and weight and documents this data and pertinent observations in the patients EMR. Charts patient care given and other data on the flow sheet and/or graphic sheet. Maintaining accountability of instruments and other medical supplies. Performing equipment maintenance per manufacturer and/or Clinical Director instructions. Accomplishing minor repairs to keep equipment in proper operating condition. Participating in or completing Improving Organizational Performance (IOP) activities and/or studies. Participation in emergency training exercises and maintaining skills in the operation of emergency equipment. Providing the Clinical Directors approved patient education to inmate patients. Assists with dressing changes and removes dressings at the direction of the physician. Responsible for all other duties and tasks assigned by the supervisor. All duties and tasks will be performed in accordance with the Program Review and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or designee.

Specific directions related to unusual treatment in emergency professional therapy are provided by the attending dentist, who explains changes in professional dental procedures available to resolve such problems and offers advice as needed. Guidelines consist of applicable professional practices and specific written and oral instructions.
