Position Summary


The Nurse Practitioner (APRN) is a key member of our multidisciplinary team, providing advanced clinical care to residents in our Intensive Residential Recovery (IRR) programs. This role integrates psychiatric and primary care, ensuring that both mental and physical health needs are addressed. The NP works closely with psychiatrists, nursing staff, behavioral health clinicians, direct care staff, and community providers to promote wellness, recovery, and resilience. While CSC's administrative offices are located in Richmond, this position requires regular on-site presence at both of our residential facilities throughout the week. Second Spring North is located in Westford and Second Spring South is located in Williamstown.

Key Responsibilities



Clinical Care



Conduct psychiatric and medical assessments, including comprehensive histories, mental status exams, and physical exams. Develop individualized treatment plans with residents and treatment teams. Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications in collaboration with CSC's psychiatrist. Provide crisis intervention and stabilization support. Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and labs. Address chronic disease management and preventative health care.

On-Call Duties



Provide coverage for urgent medical and psychiatric concerns. Respond to program staff calls regarding resident health or behavioral emergencies. Coordinate with on-site staff, EMS, or hospitals when higher levels of care are required. Document all interventions accurately and promptly.

Collaboration & Communication



Participate in weekly clinical team meetings to review resident progress and update treatment plans. Coordinate care with hospitals, providers, and community supports. Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for nursing and direct care staff. Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and guardians as appropriate.

Documentation & Compliance



Complete timely and accurate documentation in the EHR. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state licensing, and organizational standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Education & Training



Provide education on diagnoses, medications, and integrated care to staff. Support staff in implementing trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practices.

Other



Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



PhD or Master's degree in Nursing, Psychology, or a related Human Services field. Licensed APRN with prescribing authority (or eligibility in Vermont). Experience in psychiatric care strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills. Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and resilience in high-stress situations. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance required. Ability to travel regularly between CSC's residential facilities; role requires consistent on-site presence (administrative offices are in Richmond). Lived experience with mental health recovery is considered an asset.

$125K-$140K (commensurate with experience)

Pay: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
