We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including acute care, primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialized fields such as gastroenterology, infectious disease, and behavioral health. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, managing complex medical conditions, performing procedures such as suturing and catheterization, and utilizing advanced EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks. The Nurse Practitioner will deliver high-quality care in inpatient and outpatient settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and telehealth platforms. Experience with medical documentation, medication administration, diagnostic evaluation, and working with diverse patient populations is essential.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across various age groups including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal, and adult patients.
Manage acute and chronic conditions such as pain management, infectious diseases, mental health issues, and post-acute care needs.
Perform medical procedures including suturing, IV infusion/insertion, catheterization (urinary and cardiac), phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and spinal taps.
Administer injections and medications following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth to document patient encounters accurately.
Coordinate discharge planning, case management, utilization review/management, and health coaching to optimize patient outcomes.
Provide specialized care in areas such as hospice & palliative medicine, memory care for dementia patients, Alzheimer's care, behavioral health interventions, occupational health services including Workers' Compensation law compliance.
Perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory tests and medical imaging; interpret ICD-9/10 coding for billing purposes.
Engage in telehealth consultations utilizing telemedicine platforms to extend access to quality care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in teaching hospitals or trauma centers (Level I & II Trauma Center experience preferred).
Maintain compliance with infection control standards and infection prevention protocols.
Requirements
Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice independently.
Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine (ICU/CCU/PICU), emergency room/urgent care/emergency medicine environments.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth; experience with medical documentation standards like NCQA or NCQA standards is a plus.
Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy; capable of performing complex procedures such as cardiac catheterization or gastroscopy if applicable.
Experience administering injections (including IV infusions), suturing skills; familiarity with sterile processing techniques.
Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations involving laboratory specimen collection/processing or medical imaging interpretation.
Excellent patient communication skills; adept at working with people of all ages including children (pediatrics/toddler/neonatal), seniors (geriatrics/dementia/dementia care), disabled populations or those with developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of CPT coding for billing; understanding of Workers' Compensation law is advantageous.
Ability to work in fast-paced environments requiring critical thinking during acute pain management or trauma situations.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
