We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs monitoring, to evaluate health status across various populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices, including medication administration, injections, IV infusions, suturing, and wound care.
Manage acute and chronic conditions with proficiency in pain management, infection control, and disease-specific protocols such as infectious disease care and gastroenterology.
Perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, medical imaging (including sonography), and clinical procedures like spinal taps or catheterizations.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, CPT coding for billing purposes, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Coordinate patient care through case management activities such as discharge planning, utilization review, telehealth consultations, and working with multidisciplinary teams in settings like assisted living facilities or nursing homes.
Provide specialized services including esthetic laser treatments and dermal fillers when qualified; assist in procedures requiring sterile techniques or aseptic methods.
Engage in health coaching and patient education to promote wellness strategies tailored to individual needs.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on complex cases involving ICU experience or Level I/II trauma center protocols.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including NCQA standards for quality assurance and documentation accuracy using ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems.
Skills
Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or similar platforms.
Strong clinical skills in acute pain management, triage procedures, and emergency medicine protocols including airway management and ventilator support.
Expertise in diverse medical areas such as gastroenterology, geriatrics, pediatrics (including toddler and neonatal care), behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, and post-acute care environments.
Proficiency in performing medical procedures like phlebotomy, venipuncture (including specimen collection/processing), catheter care (including urinary catheters), tube feeding management, and basic life support certification.
Knowledge of medical terminology along with physiology fundamentals for accurate patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation.
Ability to administer injections safely while adhering to infection control standards; experience with botulinum toxin treatments or esthetic laser treatments is a plus.
Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes; understanding of Workers' Compensation law is advantageous.
Experience working with diverse populations including children with developmental disabilities or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across hospital medicine units or outpatient clinics.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms (ER), intensive care units (ICU), pediatric intensive care units (PICU), or trauma centers (Level I/II).
