We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Neurology to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive neurological care, including assessments, treatment planning, and patient education across diverse clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in neurology, critical care, and advanced medical procedures, demonstrating proficiency with electronic health records and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. Experience with telehealth, medical documentation, and specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers is highly desirable. This role is integral to delivering high-quality neurological services within a collaborative hospital or outpatient environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough neurological assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs, to evaluate patient conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with neurological disorders, including acute pain management and chronic condition management.
Perform advanced procedures such as lumbar punctures (spinal taps), IV infusions, catheterizations, and sterile processing techniques.
Administer injections, including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Manage complex cases involving neurocritical care, ICU patients, pediatric (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, and trauma cases within Level I/II trauma centers.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as PracticeFusion for accurate medical documentation and coding (CPT, ICD-9/10).
Coordinate discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and post-acute care for neurology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Collaborate with specialists in infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and occupational health to ensure comprehensive patient management.
Participate in clinical research initiatives related to neurology or related fields to advance evidence-based practices.
Educate patients on disease processes, medication administration (including injections), nutrition, and health coaching strategies to promote optimal recovery and quality of life.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards while working with diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or dementia.
Requirements
Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in relevant specialties; experience in neurology strongly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding required.
Extensive clinical experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU (including PICU), or neurocritical care environments; Level I/II trauma center experience is a plus.
Skilled in performing advanced procedures such as suturing, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion/infusion, catheterization (urinary or vascular), spinal taps (lumbar punctures), airway management including ventilator support.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (neonatal to toddler), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), assisted living residents, hospice & palliative patients.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to neuroanatomy, physiology of the nervous system, pharmacology for psychopharmacology and pain management.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams; strong organizational skills for managing complex cases.
Must pass background checks and drug screening; excellent communication skills are essential for patient education and team coordination. Pay: $76,284.11 - $120,000.00 per year
