Job Summary

:

Brighter Horizons Health Center with Lifeline Addiction Specialists, PLLC is recruiting a Psychiatric Or FNP Nurse Practitioner to join our team in OBMAT in a hybrid position. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for extending psychiatric services by providing psychiatric evaluation, medication treatment, and primary care to patients while providing exceptional customer service to make sure the highest quality work standards are achieved and maintained according to practice policies and procedures. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing medical services to the patients of the OBMAT as well as co-occurring disorders and primary care services. The Nurse Practitioner will perform duties within the scope of their license or certification in the state of West Virginia.

Duties:



o Ensure the timely completion of admission physicals, annual physicals, medical histories, laboratory testing consistent with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and sound nursing practice.

o Diagnose, prescribe, and monitor OUD clients utilizing the ASAM DSM V diagnosis criteria and appropriate level of care along with the appropriate referral for individualized care. Medications to be utilized for OBMAT are Suboxone, Sublocade, and Brixadi.

o Review all laboratory results as well as medical documentation from other healthcare providers and manage each client according to established best practice and accrediting and regulatory guidelines.o Screen clients for common co-occurring disorders and evaluate co-existing medical conditions to identify potential medication impact/drug interactions, to include over-the-counter (OTC) medications.

o Order and titrate the appropriate dosage of buprenorphine consistent with the client's medical and addiction history to establish a maintenance dose.

o Order dose increases, decreases, detoxification, or supervised withdrawal after assessment of the client and his/her current treatment history.

o Write medical orders based upon the individual needs of the client and sign off on all medical orders within 72 hours. Review medical therapy and document those activities in the client's chart.

o Whenever necessary, collaborate and coordinate care with other providers, clinics or hospitals participating in the treatment of program clients.

o Provide input into overall treatment program philosophy, treatment services, and client care.

o Solicit feedback from clinical and administrative staff regarding client requests and changes in client behavior.o As requested, conduct in-service training and community education (participate in and periodically lead community consultation and mental health education as it relates to substance abuse).

o Assist in developing affiliations and collaborative relationships with community based medical providers.

o Ensure that each client receives adequate services addressing communicable diseases, including risk evaluation, clinically appropriate testing, and appropriate counseling related to testing.

o Comply with accreditation standards in medical, health, and safety issues, and other areas as assigned.o Responsible for the achievement of assigned treatment center specific annual goals and objectives.

o Follow the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.

o Follow OBMAT patient admission criteria to ensure that each patient voluntarily chooses maintenance treatment and that all relevant facts concerning the use of the opioid drug are clearly and adequately explained to the patient.

o Managing OBMAT medications.

Regulatory:



o Comply with all HIPAA, state, Best Practice Standards and local regulatory agency requirements

o Comply with all accrediting agency requirements

o Comply with the organization's policy and procedure regarding the Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) credentialing process

o Report to the Program Director any complaints, litigation, or any potential litigation related to his or her role

o Report to the Program Sponsor or Program Director any investigations pending or ongoing related to his/her licensure

: Recognize the risk factors for, and signs of, opioid overdose and provide client naloxone prescriptions. Recognize substance use disorders as a chronic disease.

Minimum Requirements

:

The Nurse Practitioner must hold a valid, active WV state license with a current federal DEA number and provide documentation of renewal on or before expiration date. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:



o Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes.

o Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.

o Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, some bending, stooping, and stretching

o Variable workload, periodic high stress and activity level

o Interactions with clients who may be ill, have infectious diseases, have mental health diagnoses and/or are involved in the criminal justice system

o Standard medical office conditions and environments
