Position Summary

Northeast Medical is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Hospital Medicine team at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. This is a

daytime inpatient position

focused on the care of adult medical patients. Candidates must have prior experience working in a hospitalist role and be comfortable managing patients in an acute care hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharges Perform detailed histories and physical examinations Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions Order, interpret, and respond to diagnostic tests and laboratory results Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary services Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record Participate in care coordination, quality initiatives, and patient safety efforts Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
Required Qualifications

Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Previous experience as a hospitalist or in an inpatient hospital medicine role (required)

Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and ability to work independently Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification Experience in a busy inpatient medical service Familiarity with hospital EMR systems ( Epic)
