Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including acute care, primary care, geriatrics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing and managing medical conditions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will also be involved in telehealth services, medical documentation, and adherence to HIPAA standards. Candidates with specialized skills in areas like botulinum toxin treatment, esthetic laser procedures, IV infusion, suturing, and pain management are highly desirable.

Duties



Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, ICU, neonatal units, and assisted living facilities Diagnose illnesses and develop individualized treatment plans utilizing advanced clinical knowledge in areas such as infectious disease care, trauma management (Level I & II trauma centers), hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health Administer injections, perform suturing, catheterization, venipuncture, IV insertions, and manage airway or ventilator support as needed Provide acute pain management and chronic disease management including diabetes care (Gastroenterology focus), geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator and toddler care), and memory/dementia care Coordinate diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing (specimen collection/processing), medical imaging (sonography), and other diagnostic tools Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Engage in health coaching, discharge planning, case management, utilization review/management, and post-acute care planning Participate in telehealth consultations providing remote patient care utilizing telehealth platforms with experience in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding essential Collaborate with specialists in fields like cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (ophthalmology procedures), occupational health, and laboratory services Maintain sterile techniques during procedures such as spinal taps or lumbar punctures; ensure infection control standards are met Stay current with medical terminology updates and physiology knowledge to support accurate diagnosis and treatment

Requirements



Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice independently in the state of employment Proven experience across multiple clinical settings including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU (Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks; familiarity with Athenahealth preferred Experience administering injections (including dermal fillers), performing suturing or catheterization procedures; competency in IV infusion and venipuncture required Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law advantageous Ability to perform physical examinations involving vital signs measurement and anatomy/physiology assessments Skilled in diagnostic evaluation techniques including laboratory testing and medical imaging interpretation Excellent patient care skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children (pediatrics/neonatal), seniors (geriatrics/memory/dementia care), individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Critical thinking skills for triage decisions; experience working in urgent care or emergency room settings highly valued Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams; commitment to ongoing professional development
