Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including primary care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialty areas such as gastroenterology, dermatology, and critical care. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The Nurse Practitioner will deliver high-quality patient care in outpatient, inpatient, telehealth, and post-acute settings while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical standards.

Duties

Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal, and adult patients. Manage acute and chronic conditions such as pain management, infectious diseases, behavioral health issues, and post-surgical care. Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertion and infusion, catheterization, phlebotomy, tube feeding management, spinal taps, dermal fillers, Botox treatments (Botulinum toxin), and esthetic laser treatments. Utilize diagnostic tools such as sonography and medical imaging to evaluate patient conditions. Administer medications and injections following proper protocols while maintaining sterile techniques. Provide specialized care in areas like hospice & palliative medicine, memory care for dementia patients, Alzheimer's care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities. Coordinate discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and health coaching to optimize patient outcomes. Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner in compliance with HIPAA standards. Collaborate with physicians and specialists in hospital medicine units including ICU (Level II & Level I Trauma Center experience), PICU (Pediatric ICU), OR settings for surgical procedures like cardiac catheterization or gastroscopy. Engage in telehealth consultations utilizing telemedicine platforms to expand access to care. Maintain current knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, CPT coding (including ICD-9/10), ICD coding/diagnostic evaluation for billing purposes.

Requirements

Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice independently within the state. Proven experience in diverse clinical settings such as emergency room (ER), ICU/trauma centers, hospital medicine, outpatient clinics or post-acute care environments. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks; familiarity with Athenahealth is a plus. Experience administering injections and performing sterile procedures like suturing or catheter care. Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques such as sonography; laboratory experience is preferred. Ability to perform physical examinations effectively across age groups including neonatal ventilator management and toddler/infant care. Skilled in infection control practices and aseptic techniques to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law is advantageous for managing occupational health cases. Critical thinking skills with the ability to triage patients efficiently in urgent care or emergency settings. Excellent communication skills for patient education on nutrition, family planning or health coaching initiatives. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in inpatient or outpatient environments while maintaining compliance with NCQA standards. Pay: $124,058.66 - $149,403.97 per year
