Nurse Practitioner (Cardiothoracic Surgery Stepdown / CT ICU)

Schedule:

12-hour night shifts or flexible shifts, 3 days per week (13 shifts/month), including 2 weekends per month

Compensation:

$138K - $175K (based on experience)

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct assessments and manage post-operative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including monitoring for complications and performing procedures like chest tube and line removals. Prescribe and adjust medications, order diagnostic tests, and manage post-operative pain to support patient recovery. Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge planning, and recovery expectations. Collaborate with surgeons, critical care physicians, and nursing staff while maintaining thorough documentation of patient care.

Requirements:

Completion of an accredited Acute Nurse Practitioner program with active NYS licensure and registration. 3-5 years of RN ICU or cardiothoracic stepdown experience. Strong clinical experience with ANCC or ANNP certification. Preferred: 3-5 years of NP experience in a related field.
