Job Description

Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner shall be licensed in the State of Mississippi and must practice according to a board approved protocol which has mutual agreement of and by a Mississippi licensed physician and the approval by the Board of Trustees. Confers with physician(s) concerning assigned patients. Keeps physician(s) informed, as is appropriate, of needs and problems related to patient care. Complies with established standards. Implements and maintains established clinic policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Interprets these to physician(s), patients, and public as is appropriate. Utilizes supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner. Maintains a clean, orderly, safe environment for patients and personnel. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve clinic objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental relations, and public relations. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information, and abides by established communications code. The Nurse Practitioner must utilize a growth and development knowledge base in the care of children (pediatric), adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Receives administrative supervision by the FMRC Operations Manager. Receives medical supervision by the FMRC Supervising Provider.
