Job Description

A&M Surgery Center specializes of all facets of Oral, Maxillofacial, Cosmetic Facial and Dermatologic Surgery. Surgeries and LASER procedures are performed at our center.

We currently have openings for a part-time or full-time LPN, Surgical Assistant or Maxillofacial surgery assistant; however, will consider dental, nursing, medical assistants, or a paramedic. Will consider pre-med, pre-dental or pre-PA student who has yet to start graduate school and need 1-2 years experience in the medical field while applying to graduate school.

Applicant will perform Surgical Assisting duties as they pertain to plastic, reconstructive, maxillofacial and dermatologic surgery at a multi-specialty surgery facility in Darien, CT.

Applicant will be responsible for assisting in the operating room, taking vital signs, prepping patients for operating room, patient education, sterilizing equipment and ordering supplies. Applicant will also handle paperwork and documentation related to patients including but not limited to x-rays, operation reports and pathology. Knowledge in medical and/or dental billing a plus. If licensed to do so, employee will be trained to perform LASER skin and hair treatments and perform microdermabrasion facials.

Duties:

*First assistant duties in the operating room. Pre and post-operative patient care

*Assist in major surgeries

*Nurses or paramededic would perform minor dermatology procedures such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and LASERs

*Assist with medical billing, dental billing and pre-authorizations

*If certified and experienced in placing IV's, applicant will be starting IVs for surgery patients
