Nurse Manager (Operating Room)
in Baltimore, MD to join our leading healthcare facility in
Wilmington, DE
. You will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of daily operations within the surgical suite during daytime hours. This role ensures the efficient flow of surgical cases, optimal staffing, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support Operating Room staff, assigning responsibilities based on case complexity and team competencies.
Manage the flow of surgical cases to minimize delays and maximize operational efficiency.
Act as the primary liaison among surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and support departments to ensure clear, effective communication.
Respond swiftly to emergent situations, reallocating resources as needed to maintain patient safety and care standards.
Uphold all institutional policies, infection control procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Mentor and guide nursing staff to promote a collaborative, professional, and high-performing work environment.
Drive initiatives that streamline workflows, reduce turnover time, and improve overall patient care delivery.
Enhance perioperative efficiency by supporting timely case starts, optimizing room utilization, and eliminating service bottlenecks.
Partner with the Nurse Manager in directing the clinical and administrative operations of the department to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
Collaborate with leadership to supervise nursing and technical staff, assess competencies, and oversee daily staffing and scheduling.
Evaluate performance, provide constructive feedback, and address performance concerns as needed.
Participate in personnel management decisions, including hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and terminations.
Serve as a visible and transparent role model, demonstrating clinical excellence, professionalism, and commitment to organizational goals.
Support staff development by identifying learning opportunities, mentoring future leaders, and fostering succession planning.
Analyze workflow and administrative processes, recommending and implementing improvements to strengthen department operations.
Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives designed to enhance outcomes and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing (Master's required within 5 years)
Current RN license in Delaware with
Operating Room experience
Minimum
5 years
of relevant clinical and leadership experience
CNOR certification
(or obtained within 6 months)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
