Job Overview
: Experience for this role includes an in-depth understanding and management of a wide scope of patients admitted into Children's Specialized Hospital. The NPDP must have an in-depth understanding of the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice. The NPDP must possess clinical experience, training, and education aligned with their specialty practice area of focus. The temporary NPDP will assist in the orientation and clinical practice in the Pediatric Inpatient Unit areas. The NPDP will participate in the Nurse Residency Program when applicable to the facility. Qualified applicants for this role need demonstrated clinical experience in a broad scope of care of neonatal and pediatric populations. The NPDP may assist in other departments as clinically requested by nursing leadership. Demonstrated teaching ability required for the position.
Qualifications
:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Active New Jersey RN License or approved compact RN license required.
Bachelors Degree in Nursing is required. Associate's Degree holders can be considered if enrolled in a BSN program within one year of hire and completed within 5 years of hire. Master's Degree is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of pediatric nursing experience is required, as well as direct experience caring for children with technology dependence.
Experience in PICU, NICU or pediatric rehabilitation preferred.
Knowledge of principles of adult learning and experience preferred
BLS and ACLS required.
