Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner. In this role, you will provide nursing services in an outpatient oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care by performing thorough assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations.
Gain IV access and administer medications and injections accurately during surgical procedures according to established protocols.
Assist with surgery and sedations during oral and maxillofacial procedures
Support infection control practices aligned with CDC guidelines to maintain a sterile environment during procedures like sterile processing.
Coordinate medical consultations with outside physicians. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients.
Maintain accurate medical documentation including ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT/CDT coding for procedures, and detailed medical records for legal compliance.
Educate patients on health coaching topics such as nutrition, pain management strategies, or post-acute recovery processes.
Engage in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Valid nursing license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration and patient assessment.
Experience performing invasive procedures such as venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion/infusion therapy, suturing and tube feeding management.
Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining patient safety during procedures like sterile processing or ostomy care.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children, seniors requiring memory or dementia care, individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
Critical care experience preferred
Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes and medical documentation standards aligned with NCQA standards.
Excellent communication skills for patient education on pain management strategies or health coaching initiatives; capable of working under pressure in urgent/emergency settings.
Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are advantageous.
