Description
Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing Facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Nurse Aide who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky's Veterans.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist residents with personnel hygiene such as bathing, dental and Oral Care, Hair and Nail care. Must have an active status as a nurse aide on the KBN Nurse Aide Registry. Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions by escorting to the bathroom, providing bedpan or portable commodes. Checks and records intake and output flow charts. Assist with meals and nourishments for residents requiring assistance and restorative dining. Performing total physical care to include assisting with meals, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans. Measure and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respirations, height, as instructed. Collects and labels specimens for laboratory analysis. Strong interpersonal skills.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
