This role is a salary, exempt role reporting to the Northwest Regional Director and supporting the Northwest Region projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for safety processes and related programs at RAM Enterprise, Inc. operating sites. The selected candidate will be responsible for educating employees on Federal and State safety regulations, coordinating and directing safety and related legal activities (MSHA, OSHA, and DOT), and representing the Company with outside agencies and inspectors.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive safety training, leading incident investigations, and educating employees on Federal and State safety & health Planning.
Coordinates and directs safety and related legal activities across operational teams (MSHA and OSHA).
Oversee a safe work environment over operational projects in the field.
Remain positive in behavior and set a good example.
Will be required to take calls after hours and on weekends when needed.
Must be able and willing to take accountability for actions.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated competency in adapting to change.
Must be available to travel and work out of town when necessary.
Self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs.
Ability to provide accurate interpretation of OSHA and MSHA regulations.
Facilitate Formal Risk Assessments and present to clients at Project Kick-Off Meetings.
Responsible for record-keeping and other documentation as related to company health and safety requirements.
Work with Operations and HR to oversee a third-party random drug screening companywide.
Other job responsibilities as assigned by management
Mentor and lead regional safety members in the monthly safety meetings.
Must have a proven record of commitment to Safety and Health
Provide clear goals, ongoing training, necessary resources, and open communication to the Operational Teams to effectively manage risks and enhance productivity.
Required to submit Concur/ per diem and COGS reports for approval to the Operations Director.
Prepare and speak about post-incident corrective actions and root cause analysis
Conduct MSHA training for RAM employees
Provide clear goals, ongoing training, necessary resources, and open communication to the Operational Teams to effectively manage risks and enhance productivity
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Three to five years' experience in safety related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft platform, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Demonstrated experience in accident prevention, safety auditing, safety/health compliance, and performance as a safety technical advisor.
Ability to provide accurate interpretation of MSHA and mining safety regulations.
Knowledge to apply Federal, State and Company safety requirements to job-site practices.
Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all personnel.
Possess good communication skills, i.e., written, verbal and listening.
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Budgeting skills.
Demonstrated competency in adapting to change.
Self-motivated and willing to devote time to training programs.
Criteria/Conditions
Work is performed in various industrial settings, including; shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves and other required protective equipment as required.
