Riceland Foods is looking for a Non-Salaried Foreman to oversee daily production as well as be a relief person for the Salaried Supervisor when he or she is absent.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Non-Salaried Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily production as well as being a relief person for the Salaried Supervisor when he or she is absent. Setup and start packaging and filling machinery. Ensure the correct packaging materials are staged and ready for use. Inspect in-process packaging to ensure consistent quality and remove defective products and packaging material in the process.

Monitor packaging and filling operations to ensure product quality and production metrics are in accordance with standards.

Perform general maintenance on machinery to keep lines running. Accurately log line paperwork and complete necessary computer transactions, including downtime, line efficiencies, and ERP. All these and other duties as assigned by management.


Skills and Specifications

Must have excellent observation skills to prevent major bottlenecks, out-of-quality situations and production line problems. Must have a complete and thorough knowledge of the product.

Has knowledge in electromechanical principles to operate mass production machines.

Must have adequate interpersonal skills to work in a team environment. Must have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision.


Education and Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is basic to the position while a 1-2-year postsecondary education is an advantage. Previous experience of three years in packaging or other manufacturing or related operations is an advantage.

Accountability

Reports to the Packaging and Warehouse Manager Direct supervision of packaging employees Total employees over which incumbent has supervisory authority: 1-10

Physical Qualifications

Be able to lift up to 50+ lbs. occasionally Be able to operate equipment safely
