Duties
Safely operate a variety of vehicles including paratransit vans, or other commercial transport vehicles to transport clients to scheduled appointments.
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous and respectful customer service at all times.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped for daily operations; perform routine inspections and minor maintenance checks.
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to guarantee passenger safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare providers to confirm schedules, address concerns, or report issues promptly.
Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage while maintaining proper safety techniques.
Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance records.
Respond swiftly to any emergencies or incidents during transit by following established safety procedures and contacting emergency services if necessary.
Uphold professionalism in appearance and conduct to reflect the company's commitment to excellent customer service.
Skills
Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse clients and team members.
Knowledge of paratransit operations and familiarity with heavy lifting techniques for assisting passengers with mobility needs.
Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and identify potential mechanical issues early.
Experience in commercial driving environments with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude that reassures passengers during their journey.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under busy schedules.
Physical stamina for extended periods of driving and the ability to lift or move heavy objects safely when necessary.
