Description of Work The Health Physicist I Non-Healing Arts Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of field inspectors to ensure inspectors met set department work goals. This position manages questions from internal and external customers related to radiation machines used for analytical analysis, and industries for non-medical imaging. Rresponsible for set number of field inspections, month end reporting, inspection team management, and development of efficient resolutions to improve processes. Works closely with the registration department to ensure correct registration of applications of industries, review for radiological hazards, and establishes staff training. Ensures use of non-medical devices are operated in accordance with state and federal regulations. Provides support for the healing arts, and registration supervisors. Assist with inspection processing , task assignments, coordinates workflow to assigned team. and audits of non-healing arts devices for unsafe practices, incidents and recommend methods for maintaining radiation dose As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA). Serves as a member of the State Emergency Response Team as required to maintain Homeland Security. Attends continuing education classes and training to maintain current knowledge of radiologic effects and agency needs.

Salary Range: $48,222 - $84,388
Recruitment Range: $48,222 - $70,000

• Operational knowledge of the biological effects, principals, and physics of radiation, practice standards, and principles of radiation in medicine, Industry, education, and research.
• Functional knowledge of radiation testing equipment, and survey instrumentation for medical and non-medical radiation machines
• Experience in working in state and federal compliance.
• Proven experience in planning and organization of multiple projects with minimum direction, and advance technical writing skills..
• Currently qualified and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology.

The Division of Health Service Regulation oversees medical, mental health and adult care facilities, emergency medical services, and local jails.
