Job Summary:

To maintain proper stock levels and to have store presented daily in a way which gives an image of a store that is clean, neat and well stocked.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Responsible for performance and supervision of Night Grocery Clerk responsibilities. (Refer to "Grocery Clerk" job description).

2. Delegate responsibilities to night crew associates as directed by store manager. Follow up on assignments given to employees and in general, hold them accountable for their performance.

3. Monitor procedures for price marking and restocking to ensure quality protection, accuracy, and product rotation on shelves.

4. Take control damaged cart and write credits for products.

5. Promote and maintain good employee relations.

6. Assist the Assistant Store Manager in the training and development of night crew personnel.

7. Notify store management of situations requiring disciplinary action or situations potentially requiring such action.

8. Enforce policies and procedures established for the department.

9. Assist in insuring proper ordering.

10. Maintain a neat personnel appearance according to the company's dress code policy.

Supplemental Job Functions:

1. "Spots" in new items on the shelf.

2. Checking groceries as the need arises.

3. Changes weekly store displays.

4. Assist grocery clerk in various departments as needed.

5. Communicates with Assistant Store Manager regarding displays, new items, ordering, shelf allocation and sales reps.

6. Works with Scanning Coordinator on price changes and cents-off labels.

7. Ensures that all floors in the store are mopped, waxed, and cleaned according to company standards

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

1. High school education minimum required.

2. Should have at least two years' experience in supermarket industry.

3. Should have working knowledge of store operations.

4. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills for dealing with customers, employees and vendors.

5. Must be able to lift up to eight pounds (80#'s) thirty percent (30%) of the time.

Working Conditions:

1. Must be able to work "night" hours, 2-10:15pm. This is a Full-Time position 5 nights a week.

2. Regularly exposed to hazardous conditions associated with operation of mechanical equipment and to hazardous chemicals. Hazards are limited when established safety procedures are followed.

3. Occasionally exposed to extreme cold up to fifteen percent (15%) of the time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
