Job Description

Responsibilities

- DSPs support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by providing them with safe living environments, helping them with daily tasks, and teaching them life skills
- Assisting in meal preparation and follow menus
- Maintaining a sanitary environment
- Evaluating and documenting client progress
- Administering client medication treatments, per agency policy
- Attending to client medical needs as needed
- The Overnight Asleep Staff is allowed to sleep (between the hours of 10:00pm & 5:30am) in a designated area within the house

Qualifications

- No experience is required
- A sincere desire to work with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is the most critical qualification
- Commitment to the concept of excellent quality of life for adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities
- Ability to communicate and work positively with adults with I/DD and their families, other community members and program staff
- Must be literate and capable of understanding written and verbal orders
- Must have the ability to stay calm in stressful situations and be able to respond in emergency situations at all times
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must consent to and pass a Federal Background Check and local DFS Check

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $100.00 per day
