Job Description

Casella Construction is seeking to hire a Night Loader Operator who will operate heavy machinery used in supplying the plant with appropriate aggregate materials.



The Night Loader Operator will assist in keeping accurate inventory control, providing excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This position will assist in the maintenance of the grounds, organization and daily care of equipment. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of heavy equipment operation experience, a strong safety mindset, excellent customer service skills, flexibility for night shifts and travel, and the ability to maintain professionalism and accurate records.

Responsibilities:

Maintains a safe work environment Safely operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including loaders, bulldozers, and excavators to complete job tasks Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation Practices safety by estimating weights and distances and by being fully aware of surroundings Conducts daily pre and post equipment inspections Monitors gauges and other indicators to ensure safe operation of equipment Maintains records of time worked and materials used Completes daily paperwork Performs other related duties as assigned Operate a Caterpillar 980M loader with Loadrite scales Ensure efficient loading operations during night shifts Report directly to the day operator for immediate assistance Communicate with the manager for overall guidance Training requirements, both in person and online, as needed or required.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years or older High School or GED preferred Valid Driver's License 1-2 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator (Haul Truck, Loader) Understanding of safety rules and regulations Experience with construction jobsite layouts and grading Must be able to work some weekends and/or nights, when needed Must be able to travel out of town for a day and/or a week Ability to participate in regulatory trainings (First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Flagging, Spotter) Knowledge of MSHA compliance preferred (training available for the right candidate)

Schedule:

Sunday night through Thursday night Winter Hours (November - April): 5 PM - 5 AM Spring Hours (May - October): 5 PM - 3 AM Shift Differential for Night Hours Worked

Proficiency in math and reading.

Physical Requirements:

Must have physical strength, balance, hand eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas. Must be able to stand, walk, and climb inclines for the duration of the shift. Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather.

Hourly Hiring Range

: $22.00/hr. - $25.00/hr.



In recognition of the unique requirements of this position, a

10%

Shift Differential

is eligible for night hours worked


This range reflects the base pay we reasonably expect to offer for this position at the time of posting, considering current market conditions and industry benchmarks.

Final and individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
