Hurley Law is looking for a New Client Specialist to be the welcoming first point of contact for people reaching out to our firm. In this public-facing, phone-forward role, you'll listen with empathy, gather key details, and help determine whether our firm is a good fit for a caller's legal needs. When it is, you'll confidently guide the next steps--scheduling consultations, supporting conflict checks, and managing the onboarding process.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at customer service, sales, and project management. Your ability to communicate clearly, stay organized, and make people feel cared for will directly shape the client experience and set the foundation for long-term client satisfaction and referrals.
What You Will Do
Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients by phone (and other channels ), creating a calm, professional, and compassionate experience.
Listen actively and ask thoughtful questions to understand a caller's situation and collect intake information accurately.
Schedule consultations with the appropriate attorney and ensure the prospective client knows what to expect next.
Gather information for conflict checks and support internal processes to ensure the firm can proceed appropriately.
Coordinate client onboarding after the consultation.
Maintain timely communication with clients and internal team members to answer process questions, resolve issues, and keep matters moving.
Track and update client information in the firm's case management tools with attention to detail.
Monitor and report on intake/onboarding metrics and suggest improvements to scripts, workflows, and client experience.
Support attorneys and staff with additional administrative tasks as needed in a busy, team-oriented environment.
What We're Looking For
Experience in customer service, client success, hospitality, call-center work, or sales where you regularly communicated with the public and handled sensitive conversations.
Excellent communication skills--you can explain processes clearly, confidently, and kindly.
Strong listening and empathy--you can support people who may be stressed, upset, or overwhelmed.
Comfort with technology and CRM software (or the ability to learn quickly).
Outstanding organization and follow-through--you can manage multiple open "next steps" without dropping details.
Professional judgment and discretion--you can handle confidential information with care and integrity.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a law firm, medical office, or other intake-heavy environment.
