NEW Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager Opportunity - Westchester County New York

About the Role:
The Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager oversees all operations within Histology, Cytology, and MOHS laboratories to ensure high-quality testing, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflow. This leader will supervise the Pathology Office Manager, Pathology Supervisor, and Chief Cytotechnologist, and work closely with the interdisciplinary team to support operational excellence, accreditation readiness, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure delivery of high-quality clinical services and regulatory compliance
Oversee staff competency, education, and compliance with HR policies
Lead quality control programs and prepare QA reporting
Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development support to staff
Manage staffing, scheduling, hiring, performance evaluations, and payroll
Support laboratory accreditation and regulatory readiness initiatives
Monitor turnaround times and performance metrics
Collaborate with vendors and resolve instrument and workflow issues
Support LIS/software utilization and instrument interfacing
Participate in hospital committees, leadership meetings, and performance improvement programs
Maintain safe patient and employee environment
Develop departmental goals, budgets, and capital equipment planning
Perform duties of supervisory and technical staff as needed
Promote strong customer service and positive employee relations
Qualifications:
BS degree in Clinical Technology or related science
Minimum 6 years of relevant hospital laboratory experience
Current NYS license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, or Pathologists' Assistant required
ASCP certification preferred
Demonstrated leadership, regulatory knowledge, and quality program experience
