Neurology Doctor's Assistant
to be the bridge between our neurology team, our clients, and our referring veterinarians, making sure every interaction is clear, compassionate, and well-organized.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated
Doctor's Assistant (DA)
to support our incoming second Neurologist. This is a highly client-facing role with a strong administrative focus. You'll be the first point of contact for our neurology clients, guiding them through the specialty care process, from initial consultation through follow-up visits.
In this position, you'll play a key role in keeping the Neurologist's day running smoothly by anticipating needs, managing their schedule, and ensuring all records, test results, and client communications are organized and readily available. While primarily administrative and client-focused, you may also assist with patient handling, gentle restraint, or preparing patients for procedures when needed.
Schedule:
Wednesday - Saturday
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the main point of contact for neurology clients before, during, and after appointments
Present and review detailed treatment plans and estimates with clients
Coordinate with referring veterinarians to gather medical records and diagnostic results
Manage prescription refill requests, ensuring accuracy and timely communication
Schedule appointments and diagnostic procedures for neurology patients when needed
Communicate test results and treatment updates as directed by the doctors
Assist the neurologist in keeping their day organized: tracking cases, follow-ups, and pending results, etc.
Help with patient handling and gentle restraint when needed
Maintain accurate and organized patient files and correspondence
Qualifications
Veterinary client service or administrative experience required (specialty experience a plus)
Strong communication skills--both written and verbal--with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and empathetically
Comfortable discussing financial estimates and treatment plan details with clients
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate and professional, with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service
Comfortable assisting with safe patient handling when needed
