Job Opening Summary

Develop and manage complex projects for the design and implementation of networks for the UF Health AHC network environment and local and wide-area networks for voice, data and video services. Responsibilities include:

• Having seasoned network design knowledge of inter- and intra-building network design for layers 1 and 2.
• Budgeting development and management for network projects.
• Thorough technical knowledge in Layer 1 & 2 network environments.
• Being proficient in the use of MS Office Excel, project management tools and some proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Adhering to network security policies.
• Preparing detailed design documents, including Scope of Work. Apply change, risk, issue and problem management techniques to ensure all scope changes are accounted for and documented.
• Providing analyses of new products and applicability to UF Health AHC for adoption, recommending standards and architecture direction for network, including capacity planning recommendations.
• Demonstrating broad knowledge across all IS disciplines to bring together successful teams to accomplish projects (applications, workstations and technical services).
• Providing creative technical solutions - and lowering costs (current and ongoing) - that result in a supportable environment.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• A bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college/university in computer science or another applicable area of study plus three years of direct experience in network implementation, project management and support is required. However, an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor\'s degree.
• A certification, such as BICSI\'s RCDD, BICSI TPM, CISCO CCNA, CISCO CCDA or project management (PMP) certification, is required.
• The following is desirable and considered a plus:
  • Hands-on experience with the following products:
    • Router/Switch network hardware and operating systems, wireless and VoIP.
    • Network monitoring and support tools (such as CiscoWorks, Statseeker and Fluke analyzers).
  • Demonstrated ability to determine the level of effort and time required to complete tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within the assigned timeline.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

• Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent driver."
