Calling all IT enthusiasts with a knack for problem-solving! The Chatham County Detention Center seeks a Network Technician to join our team. If you have an Associate Degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of network design and troubleshooting experience, we encourage you to apply!


Examples of Duties


----------------------


Perform technical work in planning, coordinating, and conducting the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer and/or telecommunications equipment. Receive and install desktop technology components such as personal computers, monitors, scanners, printers, and associated software. Configure new equipment for department-specific duties. Test the functionality of new equipment and integration with existing systems and software and make necessary adjustments. Provide end-user support, training, and advice on all client-side computer hardware and software. Assist the help desk by taking service desk calls to investigate, categorize, and resolve incidents or escalate as necessary. Utilize the work order system to document problems, communicate the resolution of issues, and provide training to other technicians. May be assigned by your supervisor to minor or major projects. May serve as an assistant/backup for another Network Technician. May be responsible and accountable for a supporting IT service. Collaborate with others and work as part of a team. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and At least two (2) years of experience in network troubleshooting; or Any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have experience supporting applications and hardware within a Microsoft Windows and networked environment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.




During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.




In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.




Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.
