Summary of Responsibilities:



The Network and Computer Systems Administrator is an IT professional who performs a variety of technical duties related to:

  • Configuration
  • Operations
  • Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting
  • Support of the network, servers, desktop, and storage infrastructure for AK Child & Family.

This position works closely with the Network and Computer Systems Manager. During the course of their work the Network and Computer Systems Administrator will have the opportunity to augment their current skills and learn new ones.

  • All positions at AK Child & Family may have responsibilities altered during the course of employment due to agency imperatives.

All employees with AK Child & Family are required to be in compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid COVID vaccine mandate. The mandate requires that by 2/14/22, staff at all health care facilities must have received their first dose of a 2-shot series (Moderna or Pfizer, currently) or a single dose of a 1-shot vaccine (Johnson and Johnson, currently) with the exception of those that have sought and been granted an exemption to the COVID mandate. Staff must complete this step before they can provide any care, treatment or other services for the facility and/or its patients. By 3/15/22, all staff with the exception of those that have sought and been granted an exemption to the COVID mandate, must complete the primary vaccination series. Health Benefits:

Pay:
  • DOE
  • Bonus in the amount of 1.5% of annual salary after successful completion of 6-month Intro Period and another at the 1-year anniversary.





Supervision and Coordination of Services:

  • The Network and Computer Systems Administrator reports directly to the Network and Computer Systems Manager.





Qualifications:



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Evaluates network and computer problems and performs troubleshooting problems with computer and network hardware and software, printers, mobile devices other peripherals.
  • S/he demonstrates the ability to communicate with users of varying technical expertise offering advice, training, solutions, and guidance; to work independently and within a team on assigned projects, to prioritize and track help desk calls.
  • S/he can accurately document items such as, help desk calls, software licensing, job procedures and other assigned tasks. General knowledge of networking, such as Active Directory, TCP/IP and DHCP is necessary.
  • Expertise and the ability to support users with MS Office software is required.
  • Possess very strong IT technical skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work independently, acts as a part of the IT team and other teams within the agency.
  • Possesses a strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, good time management skills and be a critical thinker.
  • Efficiently operates and supports all AK Child & Family computer systems.
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism in regard to safeguarding sensitive and/or confidential data.
  • A valid Alaska driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and adequately insured vehicle are needed for use on the job.
  • Participates in the planning, design, and implementation of new and replacement technologies.
Education and Experience:
  • Four years progressively responsible IT support experience, with a minimum of 2 years comprehensive network and computer systems administration experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Cisco Networking environments is desired. Certifications or additional work experience demonstrating competency are required.
  • Experience in customer service and/or working with people in a supportive role.





Physical Demands:



  • The Network and Computer Systems Administrator must be able to lift computer equipment weighing up to 35 pounds and to conduct business via a telephone.
