Position Description:

Mathematica applies expertise at the intersection of data, methods, policy, and practice to improve well-being around the world. We collaborate closely with public-and private-sector partners to translate big questions into deep insights that improve programs, refine strategies, and enhance understanding using data science and analytics. Our work yields actionable information to guide decisions in wide-ranging policy areas, from health, education, early childhood, and family support to nutrition, employment, disability, and international development. We are currently recruiting field locators across the country to work on the National Beneficiary Study (NBS), sponsored by the Social Security Administration. The study will assess employment and training opportunities for beneficiaries to determine the effectiveness of these programs and how they can be improved. In-person data collection will begin in June of 2023. Field staff will locate hard-to-reach study participants to encourage and support them in completing a telephone survey. Mathematica Offers:

Position Requirements:

• Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with computer assisted personal interviewing (CAPI)
• Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills
• Previous field interviewing experience is preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Must be able to travel a minimum of 3 days a week
• Possess a valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and/or have access to reliable transportation (local travel up to a 40 mile radius only)
• Willingness to undergo a low-level security clearance and background check
• Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on the project. The NBS project will require SSA Security Clearance.

This position offers an anticipated hourly rate of $18/hr.
