The National Sales Manager - Veterinary Channel will lead and develop the veterinary sales team, driving growth through strategic sales planning and strong leadership within the veterinary channel. This role partners closely with Brand and Professional Services Vets to align sales strategies with broader business objectives and market needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Hire, onboard, and mentor team members including Vet Clinic Specialist (VCS), Field Selling Assistant (FSA), Channel Development Manager (CDM), fostering a high-performance, supportive culture.
Lead the team through change, supporting morale and helping members adapt to new processes and expectations.
Identify and address training needs, ensuring the team has the right tools, materials, and call routing support for effective field execution.
Model agility and a learning mindset
Develop and communicate clear sales strategies in collaboration with Brand and Professional Services Vets.
Champion the adoption and effective use of digital sales tools (Salesforce, virtual call platforms, dashboards), ensuring the team is trained and equipped for digital engagement.
Build and maintain relationships with key derm clinics and industry partners to drive business growth.
Lead or participate in cross-functional task forces, driving alignment and operationalizing new strategies across teams.
Regularly review business performance using data and analytics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE
Own and manage the sales budget, ensuring alignment with Brand guidance and delivering on financial targets.
Lead planning sessions focused on growth with dermatology and key clinics and new business opportunities.
Innovate and simplify conference/show strategies and trade programs, ensuring they are impactful, efficient, and aligned with business goals.
Guide the Channel Development Manager (CDM) in building partnerships and driving commercial retail partner growth.
Collaborate on the development and deployment of capabilities that improve team performance and operational effectiveness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years relevant sales or industry experience, preferably in animal health, veterinary, or life sciences sectors
Proven experience managing, developing, and coaching sales teams
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams
Experience managing budgets
Strong communication skills (written & verbal); able to simplify complex issues and balance strategy with execution
Advanced analytical, planning, and negotiation skills
Willingness to travel as needed
Pet or veterinary industry enthusiast
